I can’t wait to write this blog. I have had a couple good things happen this week and weekend that I wanted to share with you. First let me say that I just finished nine weeks into the journey and I continue to do so well. My pain level is down to a 3 and to tell you the truth, I considered actually making it a 2. I would say 2.5 and how exciting is that? Coming from an eight to a three in nine weeks is nothing short of a miracle for me.
I wonder how many fibro patients are like me. They worry about everyone else and put taking care of themselves on the back burner. The doctor told me nine weeks ago that eating healthy would better enable me to cope with the stress in my life and that less stress would equal less pain. I immediately thought yeah, right! Not only do I work a high stress job that requires long hours but I feel like I was put on this earth to take care of everyone that I come in contact with that needs me. Probably a lot of people that don’t even really need me (or maybe even want me). I don’t talk much about me when I interact with people; instead I usually focus on them and what their problems are. This brings me to the first of the good things that happened to me this week. I ticked someone off this week (imagine that) and they told me I was heartless. I looked at them and thought, really, are you kidding me. I can think of a hundred adjectives to describe me but heartless would never, ever make the list. I am the one that always says hi, glad to see you, I am fine and then immediately proceed into a conversation about you trying to determine what I can do to help you. I have laughed a lot about that comment and maybe the laughter has helped improve my pain level but it did get me thinking. Yesterday I went to a birthday party and saw several people that I had not seen for a few months. As we were exchanging hugs and asking each other “how are you”, I would say great, I feel great. It happened to dawn on me that I have said that for 20+ years when I didn’t feel great at all. I didn’t even feel good most of the time. It was always easier to get into a conversation about them than to start talking about me. But yesterday it was different. I said I felt great and actually meant it. What a blessing, I was giddy inside. I FEEL GREAT!
And the next good think that happened to me, thanks to my friends on Facebook, I figured out how to swallow my Cod Liver Oil. It works great. Can you believe there is even a youtube video on how to take Cod Liver Oil? Lisa and I watched it and took out a big spoon, held our noses and down it went. That worked so much better than mixing it with yogurt. Here is the link if you are interested http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/video-how-to-best-swallow-cod-liver-oil/. If I could encourage each of you to take one small step toward a lower pain level and better control of your Fibromyalgia, the Cod Liver Oil would be my tip. Not only is it an anti-inflammatory, but the other health benefits are numerous and it is something that requires very little effort. Let me know if you already use it and how it has improved your health.
Until next week, please sign up to receive email updates of my blog. And by all means, please continue to leave comments. One little comment or idea from you could be all it takes to lower someone else’s “Fibro-Meter”.
Lindy,
Love the pain attack with the holistic approach! Can’t wait to read more about your journey to be pain free!
JB
Lindy you are awesome!!!! Glad to hear your pain go down. In regards to caring for other people, I recently listened to a sermon by Joel Osteen now I don’t want to go down the preachy religious route but he said something that plucked a cord in me regarding this matter. He said that you cannot be the gate keeper of the universe, that’s Gods job. Meaning you can’t be responsible for everyone, at some point you have to let go and let god as they say. I am the same way sometimes especially with family members and that really helped me a lot!!!! Thanks for your valuable content!!!
So glad you are taking a natural approach to healing and also realizing the mental aspect of how you have spent years focusing on others and masking what has been bottled up in your tissues. So proud of you for all the breakthroughs!

Lots of Progress!! Awesome Lindy!!
Thanks Tony. I have “Success is about Progression” written on my dream board. How true that is.
I am so happy that you are experiencing such success in this journey! So I’m thinking about the cod liver oil and whether or not I could be brave enough to try it……..
Thanks Tanya. I am feeling great and I definetly recommend the cod liver oil. Just keep your nose plugged until after you swallow and drink something and you will never even know you took it. Sylvia takes it and says your skin, nails and hair will never feel better.
I have to say that I can definitely tell that your pain and stress levels are so much lower than they were just 2 months ago. I hoped so much that the change if your diet would help with your pain but was a little skeptical at the same time but now I am telling everyone that I talk to how much eating healthy has changed both of us. I was so proud of you when our co-worker taked to you the way she did and you kept your cool and let it roll off your back, although I feel that it would have ended much worse if you were still in as much pain as you were a few months ago.
You are definitely an inspiration to everyone around you!! Keep up the good work and I hope you continue to feel as great as you do now!!
Thank you for sticking by me Lisa. You have been my main support in this journey. You are down 37 lbs and are not only looking good but feeling good. Sorry I had to drag you on the Cod Liver Oil adventure but I don’t want you to miss any of the excitment. Can’t wait to see what is next.
Lindy!! Lol Cod liver oil is such a joy, isn’t it? But you are absolutely correct! Guess our grandsmother’s knew what they were talking about when they said to take your clo. So happy you’re doing well, you’re an inspiration for so many!!
Thanks Sylvia. It continues to improve and I continue to plug my nose and gulp. We laugh everyday when we take it.
Lindy,
good job you´re low with your pain-level in such a short time and that you´re foussing on an even lower level soon! You become a role model – I wish you SUCCESS!!!

Thanks Rita for following me. I am so excited with my success on the health front. Now to carry it over to the business front. Hope i am equally successful there. Take Care.
Thanks for posting, Life is Good!
Lindy,
It is you setting boundaries, taking care of yourself and thinking outside the box that truly inspires!!!
Way to shine!!!
Lindy, I loved this blog. Thank you. I have been checking out the cod liver oil since reading this. My 29-year-old son and I were just talking this morning of his joint pain and how it is affecting his life. In researching this a little, I found the company Green Pasture recommended. Do you use a specific brand?
Thank you so much for the information.
Leslie I use Carlson Norwegian Cod Liver Oil because that is what the doctor recommends and use but I had several people respond to my previous blog and they all recommended Green Pasture. My doctor really feels it is good for inflammation and joint pain and I have to agree with her. I traveled over the weekend and forgot to take the oil with me and I was noticeably stiffer this morning after only two days. I had not eaten anything I shouldn’t have so I have to think it was from not taking the oil.
